Accommodations
1. Wyndham Garden Hotel (site of all conferences sessions):
$99 per night, per room for 1 or 2 people. Call 877-662-6242 and
mention that you are attending the Cultural Studies Association
meeting. Reservations must be made by May 14 to qualify for the
conference rate.
2. Carnegie Mellon University Dorm:
$28/night for Single Occupancy with linen
$18.75/night for Double Occupancy with linen
The dorm is 1.4 miles from the hotel. It is an easy walk through
the CMU and Pitt campuses and adjoining business district, though
obviously much more pleasant in good weather. We hope to provide
a shuttle service at the beginning and the end of the day. There
are also city buses that take you within a couple blocks at either
end for $1.75 each way. The dorm is not air conditioned. The average
high temperature for these dates in Pittsburgh is 78F and the average
low is 54F. The weather is quite varied at this time of year. It
can be very hot and humid, or it can be cool and rainy.

Book Exhibit
The Founding Conference of the Cultural Studies
Associations will include a book exhibit specially organized by
the Library of Social Science (LSS). LSS seeks your input in developing
a comprehensive collection of titles. The book exhibit will include
publications encompassing the full range of topics on culture in
relation to social, aesthetic, historical, economic, political,
or semiotic conditions and issues. It will bring together recent
and significant titles and contribute substantially to the intellectual
value of our conference. We especially wish to include BOOKS WRITTEN
BY AUTHORS WHO WILL BE SPEAKING AT THE MEETING. If you are an AUTHOR
and wish to have your book included - or are aware of recent titles
in the field that should be included in this display - please
complete and return this form.
