An applicant must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited educational institution, with a strong record of academic achievement, and be highly recommended by three references.
Along with your completed application, you must submit
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, no older than two years.
All applicants whose native language is not English must submit
scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
A portfolio of design and/or writing samples is required
for application. For designers, we will accept work on slides (20
max), on Zip or Syquest cartridges, and/or on videotape. For writers,
ten samples of writing should accompany the application form. Please
clearly describe the context of the work on a separate page.
If the Admissions Committee believes that an applicant
needs additional design coursework prior to entry, you may be required
to take an intensive six-week design program in the last half of
the summer preceding the start of the Fall semester.
We will begin reviewing applications after Feb. 1,
of each year for admission in the Fall semester. A campus interview
is recommended; in lieu of that, a telephone interview will suffice.
