Undergraduate applicants do not apply to the Engish department, but rather directly to Carnegie Mellon and declare their major in their sophomore year. Please visit the CMU Undergraduate Admissions website to learn about applying to CMU and the College of H&SS.

Applicants to any of the graduate programs in the English department do, however, apply directly to the CMU Department of English. You may either apply online or you may download a PDF version of the application form.

To submit your GRE scores, please use 2501 as the department code.
